Since the beginning of the 21 st century, the information-based society has developed rapidly. And information processing ability has already become a talent person’s basic skills.With the deepening of the reform in basic education, The new curriculum standards require the teaching of subjects in the use of new teaching ideas, innovative teaching mode, a bold attempt the application of new technologies. Requirements contact students’ real life, play the dominant position of students in order to train and improve students’ comprehensive literacy curriculum goals.“Micro-lecture" is a new teaching resources form which discovered during the digital age. It has the complexity of knowledge representation ability, good flexibility, and some other good characteristics. Taking into account the practical needs and feasibility, I choose to middle school English course as a basic point, focus on the design and application of "Micro-lecture" of English course research.This study based on Informal Learning theory, constructivist learning theory as the theoretical basis, combined with the middle school students’ cognitive characteristics. By means of literature review, questionnaires, interviews, Lesson design and other research methods. The main research of this paper are as follows:Firstly, Micro-lecture meaning. Based on the "Micro-lecture" is a new name, the research on it is nor mature, so I briefly describe the development, connotation and characteristics of the "Micro-lecture", summarized the basis theoretical study, as well as help to promote teaching effectiveness of English courses in basic education.Secondly, Exploration and design of the “Micro-lecture”. According to the theories and my own research, I put forward the design principles and the development process for the "Micro-lecture".Next, application and validity evaluation. In view of feedback of practicing, I tried to analyze the question, correct Micro-lecture strategy, give questions solutions and optimize the design process again.Finally, at the end of the research, I present the results of the research, imitation and shorts, and my expectation of Micro-lecture.I hope the research on application of using the "Micro-lecture" to improve the information technology course will have a positive significance on basic education.
