With the promotion of new senior curriculum reform, senior schools of countiesgradually take measures to adapt to the new senior curriculum. However, there existmany problems when the new senior curriculum is put into practice by Englishteachers. As a senior English teacher, the writer has felt the pressure and difficulties inpromoting the new curriculum reform. English is a key one in senior subjects but thestudents give the poor performance on it in the high schools of counties. The newcourse puts forward the further requirements on high school English teachers. Theteachers should adjust themselves to the new roles as soon as possible, besides, theyshould make very effort to improve their abilities in teaching and enlarge theirknowledge to meet the needs of the reform. Weather English teachers can adapt thereform is the important factor that limits the implement of new course.The writer takes Bin chuan Number4high school as a research object. Afterdoing research on the adaptability of new curriculum reform for English teachers inBin chuan Number4high school, the writer discovers some teachers do not adapt tothe new curriculum on some respects, including psychology and abilities in teachingand the knowledge of English. The writer comes up with some strategies tostrengthen teachers’ adaption according to the analysis. The purposes of the thesis areto help English teachers in Bin chuan Number4high school adapt to the newcurriculum better and to provide information and theory to researches on the adaptionof other senior high school.The thesis is divided into five parts:Part One mainly introduces the Paper,including the background information, the research significance, the researchmethodology and the analysis of studies at home and abroad.The second part mainlyanalyzes the new curriculum standard and discusses the theory and concept ofadaptability and role changes of high school English teachers in curriculum reform.The third part focuses on the survey on English teachers of Bin chuan No4highschool. The writer discovers teachers have some difficulty in adaptability according to the survey. The fourth part the writer carefully analyzes the study results anddescribes the factors affecting teachers’ adaption of curriculum reform from twoaspects, teachers’ own factors and the external factors. The fifth part is mainly tocome up with some strategies to help English teachers of Bin chuan No4high schooladapt to the situation, including internal mechanism and external promotionmechanism. |
