With the starting of ordinary senior high school curriculum reform in 2003, the implementation of new curriculum brings precious developmental opportunity to Chinese senior high school education, but it also brings many challenges at the same time. Teachers are the key to the success of new curriculum's implementation. In order to adapt to the new educational situation, teachers are required to change their former teaching forms. English is a vital subject in senior high school education,therefore English teacher's adaptability is even more important.This thesis is divided into five parts: Part One mainly introduces the paper, such as the background information, the research significance, and the research methodology. Part Two analyzes the correlation between new curriculum and teachers, which includes theories relates to teachers'adaptability and teachers'role in new curriculum reforms. Part Three gives the investigation results on English teachers current adaptable situation and existing problems under new curriculum. Part Four discusses the results of Part Three, and lists factors affecting teachers'adaptability. The last part suggests policies for improving teachers'adaptability, according to teachers'adaptable situation under new curriculum reform.
