New Curriculum Standards pointed out that High school language curriculum should pay attention to the students’ aesthetic ability and other abilities. The language classroom should be beautiful. Chinese curriculum contains rich aesthetic factors and has an important function of aesthetic education. Especially the aesthetic value of literature works is very high. The novels which are selected into the high school textbooks are basically classical masterpieces, quality and beauty. They are rich in artistic quality and ideological contents. These novels have unique aesthetic factors, such as the beauty of realistic figures, vivid narration, implicit emotion, rich connotation and so on. However, the present situation of the current novel teaching in high school is unsatisfactory. They are utilitarian. Teachers do not dig these aesthetic elements of the novels, neglecting the cultivation of students’ humanistic quality and aesthetic quality. In the previous point of view, the novel teaching in high school and aesthetic education with the combination of research are still not adequate relatively. And they basically remain in the fragment of the theory and have not formed the very systematic novel aesthetic education theory system. And the guidance for the practice is not enough. So this paper based on the previous research results, according to education concept that the new curriculum standards advocated, combining with the students’ requirements of all-round development, puts forward the subject of "A research of aesthetic education in novel teaching in high school ". The subject aims to combine the novel teaching and aesthetic education, to explore an effective way suitable for novel teaching in high school.This paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter is the introduction. It points out the reasons and the significance of this research, and then reviews the relevant research results on aesthetic education. It also further points out the significance of studying this topic.The second chapter puts forward the significance of implementing aesthetic education of novel teaching in high school. It first points out the current situation and problems of novel teaching in high school:teachers and students pay less attention to the novel in terms of ideology; teachers’ teaching mode is a bit of fossilization and teachers are lack of aesthetic qualities; students read less and accumulate less, so their aesthetic appreciation ability is very low. Besides, it puts forward the necessity and significance of implementing aesthetic education of novel teaching in high school. It is conducive to create a relaxed learning atmosphere and develop a pleasant education, to inspire students’ intelligence and knowledge potential and to enrich life and improve the students’ personality.The third chapter discusses the realistic basis of implementing aesthetic education of novel teaching in high school. It is based on aesthetic psychological structure of senior high school students and the unique aesthetic characteristics and aesthetic value of the novels. Aesthetic psychological structure of senior high school students includes aesthetic perception, imagination, emotion, comprehension and creation. Senior high school students also have the unique novel aesthetic psychology, such as seeking novelty psychology, entertainment psychology, group psychology. They reflects their aesthetic appreciation activities with a certain arbitrariness, emotion, the surface and the shallow layer. But the novels of high school have unique aesthetic features, such as boundless aesthetic vision, lifelike and vivid image of the United States, the beauty of creating new styles of plot, the beauty of having a style of one’s own environment, the beauty of hidden and deep emotion, the beauty of rich and profound meaning of the United States. They have very high aesthetic value. Teachers and students should be sufficient to get them.The fourth chapter discusses the strategies of implementing aesthetic education of the novels teaching in high school. First, it points out some conditions of implementing aesthetic education of the novels teaching in high school. For instance, the novel’s aesthetic education theory should be enriched and improved, teachers should constantly develop and improve their own aesthetic accomplishment and continue to inspire and cultivate the students’ aesthetic consciousness. Then the chapter puts forward some strategies to implement aesthetic education such as new leading-in, arousing students’ interest in reading and the aesthetic perception, simplifying, finding out the best aesthetic point, inspiring imagination, filling the bland of words, teaching methods, cultivating students’ aesthetic understanding and critical thinking, encouraging creativity, cultivating students’ aesthetic creativity, reading and broadening students’aesthetic vision. All above can shape the students’ perfect personality and sound personality and enable students to become all-round developed talents who have healthy aesthetic taste.
