Comparison method is to compare the phenomenon and the essence of things. Under thenew curriculum standard in geography teaching, comparison method can effectively cultivatestudents’ thinking ability and develop students’ intelligence. Achievements can also be seen instudents’ knowledge and skills, process and method, emotional attitude and values.Application of this method in the middle school geography teaching will surely improvestudent’s learning effectiveness. Therefore, it is of great significance for enhancing bothteaching and learning to conduct research into the application of comparison method.Under the new curriculum standard of senior high school geography teaching, this paper triesto study how to combine comparison method and plenty of new teaching method in practicalsettings. Through literature analysis, statistic analysis and case analysis, this paper expoundsthe comparison method under the background of new curriculum reform, citing numerouscases as a reference for teachers in real classroom teaching.Based on related theories, this paper first reviews relevant concepts and theoretical basisand then introduces the significance and principles of comparison method in the high schoolgeography classroom. The following section is the case analysis which consists of experienceand expert interviews. Main problems in the application of comparison method include:correlation between chapters is not handled well for young teachers; Students have notformed the habit of thinking comparatively, and their use of comparative method remains inthe early phase of memorizing knowledge; Teachers do not inform the students of theexperience of using comparison method, and they lack of systematic knowledge ofcomparison method. As a solution to these problems, this paper suggests the followingapproaches: cultivate students’ ability in using comparison method; strengthen teachers’teaching skills; teachers should read literature extensively. In addition, returning to teachingmaterials, teachers can make reasonable adjustments in the order of teaching so as to facilitatethe comparison method.After the capture of the above, the case has been given. |
