| During high school, due to the high study pressure, there has been a gradual increase in students’emotional problems and behaviour problems. Thus, it is of significant importance to pay more attention to high school students’mental health.In this study, the523object students were chosen from the high school of Yangzhou city Jiangsu province. Questionnaire and Case Study were used with the Middle School Student Mental Health Scale, Self-esteem Scale and Social Support Scale to explain and penetrate the students’mental health, self-esteem and social supports, and to explore the interrelation among self-esteem, social supports and mental health of high school students. Also, the quantitative research should be combined with certain case study to explore the intervention way of mental health problems about high school students, and then to make feasible educational suggestions for the healthy development of high school students’mental health.From the result, we can see that,1. The top three mental heath problems of high school students are:sense of study pressure, anxiety and emotional instability.2. Upon the level of paranoid, hostility and human relationship, there is a difference between the only child and the child with siblings; on the level of emotional instability, the difference between the only child and the child with siblings is distinct. Upon the level of mental health and each factor of it, there is a remarkable difference among different grades. On the level of anxiety, there is a difference among students with different performance levels; On the level of mental health, the sense of study pressure, obsessive compulsive disorder, paranoid, human relationship, depression and emotional instability, the difference among students with different performance levels is distinct. On the level of maladaption, there is a difference among different family economic conditions. Upon the level of depression and maladaption, the difference of different family types is evident. And finally, on the level of humane relationship, anxiety and maladaption, the difference of various fathers’education background is also evident.3. The level of self-esteem of high school students is above medium, but it needs to be improved.4. The social support of high school students is satisfactory, also, it needs to be strengthened.5. The high school students’self-esteem is negatively related to mental health problems and to the each factor of mental health problems.6. The three dimensions of social support are negatively related to the each factor of mental health problems, and the social support itself is also negatively related to mental health problems.7. There was an interaction among high school students’self-esteem, social support and mental health problems. Among which, the most important dimension is self-esteem.8. In order to further improve the level of high school students’mental health, we need to enhance the condition of high school students’self-esteem and social supports by interventions.9. On the basis of the combination of quantitative research and certain qualitative research, our study recommend some suggestions to enhance the overall condition of high school students, firstly, strengthen self-esteem; secondly, highten the level of social supports; thirdly, the school system of mental health education should be perfect. By doing so, the author intends to bring down the unhealthy symptoms and improve the overall quality of high school students’mental health. |
