Shih ji is one of the most outstanding historic works in China. It is an excellent literature work and helps the development of Chinese biography literature reach a summit. It is a big improvement of Chinese curriculum reform to have the course Shih ji as a high school Chinese elective course. As an elective course, will improve students’ responsibilities and other abilities to help them develop the glorious tradition of China and to understand the great ideas of Chinese ancient people. Students will cultivate their feelings towards the literature works in China. So teachers should pay more attention to the humanity education while teaching this course and choose the correct teaching method according to the characteristics of the students. Specifically, there should be more exploration activities rather than giving a lecture only. Students’ culture level will be raised after attending this course.
