Tennis is a kind of sport with strong technical and professional factors. It has complicated and various technical movements and the court is relatively large and the speed is a little fast,so the athletes need to be capable of having good shooting skills and flexible mobile footwork, and combine the two factors actively in real matches. Tennis learning is a long and boring process because of the complexity and variability of the tennis sport, therefore,tennis players tend to learn well usually by years of hard training and astonishing perseverance. It would be a big challenge if put this tennis learning process in just few hours of PE class no matter to the teachers or students. The significance of adopting the asynchronous teaching method in colleges” tennis selective course mainly lies in: enriches training methods and theoretical system in colleges ” tennis teaching;improves tennis class teaching efficiency and then effectively promotes the students’ special technical levels.Based on a large amount of documentary articles, the author obtained more than one hundred related articles and works,and got a preliminary understanding about the method, theory and current situation of asynchronous teaching method,so it got theoretical support of using this method in tennis compulsory class of social sports specialty, grade 2013 of Chengdu sports university. After the teaching experimental research for 16weeks(64 school hours),compared with traditional teaching method,the result indicates that asynchronous teaching method has many advantages in colleges” tennis technical teaching and they are as follows:It can improve students” professional skills and technical abilities; It can be beneficial to conduct students ” learning motivation and stimulate their interest in learning;It can be helpful to improve students ” self-directed and autonomous tennis learning abilities;It can improve students social communication abilities and form a good competitive environment;It can also help to raise teachers” teaching levels by continuous learning in teaching practices.Therefore,the paper throws out some advice on those tennis teachers that they should fully respect the students ” individual difference and teach students in accordance with their aptitude,they should further promote the asynchronous teaching method and theory into future tennis teaching work and deeply excavate its potentials. In addition, since the objects of the teaching experiment are tennis beginners that without any tennis basis, teachers usually need to spend a lot of time and energy creating teaching conditions for those learners,the article suggests that it would have a better teaching effects if adopting asynchronous teaching method and theory into the class with a certain basis of tennis but different levels,and also suggests that they should adopt asynchronous teaching method in undergraduates tennis elective class and graduate students” tennis teaching of special technologies.
