Government performance management is an important measure to improve the government efficiency and people’s satisfaction. In our country, the report of Chinese Communist Party’ Eighteenth National Congress and China’s “Outline of the 12 th Five year development plan for national economic and social development” pointed out that innovate management style, improve the government credibility and execution, advance the government performance management. It can be seen that the government performance management has been placed on the important agenda, and a very important path to building a service-oriented government is to promote government performance management.Thoughthe country has been trying to reform government performance management, performance management reforms of all levels of local government still advance slowly. At present, the local government performance evaluation systems in our country did not form a unified standard.Local governments adopted different evaluation indexes and evaluation methods, according to the local specific situations and the development directions. So far, the main forms of performance evaluation in our country are divided into three categories, universally applicable government inside performance evaluation, specific industry performance evaluation and specific work performance evaluation. Internal government performance evaluation includes objectivemanagement, performance management and construction of efficiency, etc.In Yibin, the government performance management reform is slow.The service consciousness of local governments, administrative efficiency, and employee ability has obvious gap compared with the developed countries and domestic developed areas. As a civil servant in Yibin, the author has a profound visual contact and thinking of performance management status quo in this area and tries to analyze the Yibin government performance management status, combined with the learned knowledge in public management course.In this article, the author compared and analyzedtheinstances of government performance evaluation at home and abroad, found out the advantages and the existing problems, and put forward the corresponding countermeasure and the suggestion. This provided theoretical support for the reform of local government performance management, so as to provide the practice good reference for the future reformers and this also is the goal of this topic.
