The opera《Turandot》is the Italian famous opera composer Puccini's swan pinnacle of poetic creation. In this opera, turandot and liu are two important feminine characters, there is a sharp difference between their status and disposition. Puccini has always been famous for portraying the feminine characters. This paper will analyze the different status, disposition, sentiment as well as the aria of the two heroines, to observe how the composer uses music to shape different character images, and what kind of theatrical role do these contrasting characters play in the whole opera, and how their contrast manifests composer's central thought.Chapter 1: character introduction and image comparisonThis chapter simply introduces the background of the opera's creation, embarking from the image analysis of liu and turandot, to understand the differences of these two character images.Chapter 2: comparison of two feminine main aria and singsingThis chapter embarks from two heroines' arias to understand how the composer does use music to portray the image of different characters.and through my own singing experience and masters'interpretation to grasp these two feminine well.
