A Brief Analysis Of Liù's Character Image And Music Interpretation In Opera <Turandot>

The opera<Turandot>was composed by Italian composer Giacomo Puccini.His early work was rooted in late-19^th-century romantic Italian opera.Later,he successfully developed his work in the realistic verismo style,of which he became one of the leading exponents.<Turandot>was his last opera which he has created with the most infinite music tension and conception.<Turandot>includes two female roles called Turandot and Liù.They have formed sharp contrast because their characteristic features and social status are totally different.Puccini was very good at depicting female image which Liùwas one of the most famous female figure.Liùhas a misera ble destiny with vulnera ble personality,I was so impressive and touched by Liù's image and Puccini's talents.Along with the continuous development of the plot in the opera and the emotion of rendering,two arias of Liùmakes the whole opera emotional reached its peak,touching,and it is the climax of the story.Based on the opera<Turandot>,the paper focuses on the character image and music interpretations of the soprano roles in com bination with the singer's stage experiences and music theoretical knowledge.Through a comprehensive ela boration,Turandot and Liùin their respective characteristics,music interpretations etcetera,as well as the emotions of Liùin the whole opera play a what kind of functions,thus to analyze how the composer is through the form of music depicting the character image.The first chapter is a brief description of the background of the opera.In the second chapter,the chapter analyzes the characters image of the two female leading roles and gives them a certain understanding,then the following point is two arias of Liù,to analyze how Puccini in the form of music depicted the soprano role Liù.By com bining my own performance experiences,to master the artistic image of Liù.
