This article attempts to describe the influence of the Opium War and the China nationality relations characteristic in that time by the angle the nationality relations history. It based on the researches that Chinese tradition nationality relations' characteristic before the Opium War, the Qing Period's r national policy, Chinese various nationalities resisting the imperialist together, the intellectual's (Lin Zexu, Wei Yuan and so on) opinions of the world. In one word, the Opium War is the beginning of the transformation that China's ethnic relations from traditional to modern. This transformation is drive by the crisis of the Opium War, passively and slowly.
