Studies indicated that self-concept and attribution have an important influence on individual mental health.To explore mental health of undergraduates and the relationship with self-concept and attribution offers theoretic basis for studying the mental health of undergraduates.Also it can offer an entering point which is suitable to mental health education of undergraduates.The study is of great importance for improving mental health level of undergraduates and reducing mental health problems.Based on the extensive literature and updated findings at home and abroad,we address the purpose of this study which is to explore characteristics of undergraduates' self-concept and attribution and the relationship among them.Firstly this study used computer network survey technology to investigate 233 subjects.The data was stored by MS SQL server 2000.Then the survey responses were analyzed by the SPSS13.0 and LISREL8.70 statistical software package for Cronbach a reliability analysis,validity analysis,mean,standard deviation,the independent samples t-test,one-way ANOVA,Pearson correlation and medium effect.The findings and conclusions were as follows:(1) There's a significant gender difference on moral self and the self-criticism of self-concept. There's no significant gender difference on self-concept and other seven dimensions.(2) There's a significant gender difference on transient of the attribution style,and boys get much higher score than girls;There's no significant gender difference on self-others and the whole-the part of contribution.(3) In self-others of contribution there's a significant difference between students who learned arts and students who learned science;in transient-lasting and the whole-the part of contribution there's no significant difference between them.(4) There's a significant gender difference on obsessive-compulsive disorder and bigotry. There's no significant gender difference on other eight dimensions.(5) In the self-criticism of explicit self-concept there's a significant differences between high score group and low score group of the implicit self-concept.(6) Self-Concept has mediating effect between the attributional style and mental health.
