Since Pennebaker and Beall designed an intervention paradigm which can improve physical and mental health called emotional disclosure paradigm, and it’s widely used in clinical studies in foreign countries, but in our country is just beginning. The study lasts for four days, and wrote for 20 minutes emotional fact each day, the result of the study show that emotional disclosure can improve the health of subjects. In this study, we have chosen the emotional disclosure intervention experiments on college students, and then explore the impact of emotional disclosure on the mental health of college students. In this paper,100 voluntary choice of the experimental course students were chose for experiment. They were divided into 2 groups in class:The students showed emotional disclosure as the experimental group, the students do not show emotional disclosure as the control group. All subjects completed a variety of scales before experiment, including Self-rated Health Measurement Scale, scale of Attributional Style Questionaire. The study lasts 6 weeks, disclosed a total of 4 times, all subjects completed scales again. This study concluded that:(1) The attributional style of college students on the positive events differences correlate with gender on the overall target dimension, and the scores of overall target dimension for female is higher than that for male. The attributional style of college students on the negative events differences correlate with liberal arts and sciences on the overall-local dimension, and the scores of overall-local dimension for liberal arts students is higher than for science students.(2) Significant positive correlations were found between the attributional style of college students on the positive events of the internal-external dimension and positive emotions, mental health subscale of the Self-rated Health Measurement Scale. Significant positive correlations were found between the attributional style of college students on the negative events of the lasting-temporarily dimension and cognitive function. The analysis of the linear regression showed that the attributional style of college students on the negative events of the lasting-temporarily dimension had direct and positive effects on body movement and physical health, the attributional style of college students on the positive events of the internal-external dimension had direct and positive effects on positive emotion and mental health.(3) The effect of emotional disclosure showed not any gender differences. The intervention paradigm of emotional disclosure can promote the mental health of subjects, but cannot promote the physical health and social health of subjects.
