Sandplay Orphans Mental Health

Based on Jung's idea,sandplay therapy has demonstrated its unique healing role in many fields.It is confirmed that sandplay therapy's active effect in autism,test anxiety,behavior problems,mental health education,attachment,borderline personality disorder,family therapy, children with disabilities(such as deaf students and children in language barriers school), juvenile with suicide attempt,and group psychotherapy.Whereas it has rare investigation in special and vulnerable groups,such as orphans.To some extent,psychological assistance is more necessary to orphaned children than normal.For this reason,the reaearch aims at sandplay therapy's mental effect in orphans.This research explores the feasibility and development of sandplay therapy in welfare house of China.Sandplay therapy can work hard for orphans,the elderly,even staffs in there.At the same time,sandplay therapy also has large room in community,which means benefit of children in community,communication between the outside world and welfare house,and harmony in both socity and our countryThis research proves the positive effect of sandplay therapy towards orphans' mental health. Orphans exhibites progress in behavior,mood,socialization,learning,self-consciousness, initiative and empathy.Sandplay therapy offers a room,which means free imagination and less limitation.This kind of room has extraordinary signification to orphans in wealfare house.This research combines subjective and objective methods,that is a integration of standardized test,standard scales,and observation from both staffs and professional teacher, therefore it has ability to focus on the complex movement happening on orphans.Orphans get rid of self-enclosure and open hearts to virtuous human being length by length.The feeling of free and be protected will accompany with orphans' growth,the unique spiritual garden in sandplay therapy will always be their nourishment and wealth.
