| Since 1990s, TV series creation in China revealed prosperity and development. An array of works with distinctive themes appeared in the screen's'prime time', and be regarded as classic and unforgettable by the huge Chinese TV audiences. In recent years, Chinese TV series riched in numbers, diversified and sophisticated in themes and manifestations, partly due to impact from Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Europe, US, and other western countries. To some extent, there existed an interesting interaction between Chinese TV series and Chinese social values and lifestyles.This paper, by comparing and analysing, discusses the differences between Hong Kong and mainland's commercial-war-theme TV series creation, which has become more and more popular in recent years of TV series development both in the two areas. The paper compares in such aspects as application manner, and commercial content, which helped form different creation modes and concepts in the two areas.As a master's degree thesis, the motivation and research plan of my paper presents below: based on the current reality of China's TV series creation and overall TV works'performance, noticing the relatively single dimension of current TV series creation research, my paper tries to provide some meaningful contribution to the future Chinese TV series creation.In summary, the purpose and significance of my confirming this topic as thesis subject, is mainly in the following points: my choice is based on my attention and research in China's TV series when teaching radio and television courses in college in the recent few years; the Chinese television industry, as well as TV creative concepts, so how to sum up the law of the phenomenon, and provide useful help to the future creation of TV series, may be the most important goal and significance of my research. |
