Since1997, Hong Kong has returned to china for more than a decade. The Hong Kong Culture has happened to trends and the Hong Kong people psychological occur subtle changes in the underlying, which trend is rendered as to gradually narrow the psychological distance with the mainland. The goal of this study is to find and confirm this change by analysis Hong Kong film which made before and after the reunification, and analysis the causes and conditions of this shift, as well as the significance of its occurrence, in order to glimpse the new mode between Hong Kong culture and Chinese mainland culture. In this paper I want to find the reasons for the cultural development trend in Hong Kong and the psychological change of Hong Kong people after the reunification in the study by mainly describing the downturn of the Hong Kong films in the1990s. Hong Kong Film’s downturn during this period doesn’t mainly due to the decline of its own vitality, but mainly subjected to external negative environmental impact.
