Due to the immigrant city mixed with colonial background, Hong Kong’s identity has always been one of the important issue of researchers. TV series as the most extensive and far-reaching social text in popular culture media, It construct the nation and the role of local identity, the represent of the "new immigrants" not only influence the public perception of new immigrants, but also further affect the people of Hong Kong self-definition. And this is not a general group to the images of foreign "others", but the people of Hong Kong recognized the people who share the same history and culture, but live in under different ideological.Around this problem, the paper use a combination of means of quantitative studies and cultural studies, with sociology identity recognition theory and image theory to encode and decode the mainland people images in Hong Kong TV series, and discuss a range of issues which about the formation and change of the Hong Kong’s culture image to mainland, analysis of how about the Hong Kong Cultural self-expression in a whole new era, as well as Hong Kong people how to look at the relationship between themselves and the mainland compatriots how to treat cultural issues of social identity.This paper argues that the image of the shape of the mainland people of Hong Kong TV series in thirty years is the performance of the people of Hong Kong to seek new identity. First, Hong Kong TV series on the characterization of the Mainland people has a stereotype, and this stereotype changes with the political system in Hong Kong and times. Secondly, Hong Kong TV series is always associated with the current historical context, the changing mind of the series laugh at mainland people, is just explains the unique identity of the people of Hong Kong returned to the motherland after cracks grow.
