Poetry The Image Of Orchid

There were a lot of poems portraying many living images in Quan Tang Shi. And Huji was one of those images.Based on the researches of the former scholars on this subject, this thesis mainly discusses the Huji image in Quan Tang Shi. At first, this thesis tries to find out the origin of Huji and investigates and studies the different meanings of Huji in different dynasties. Then, this thesis classifies the Huji images in Quan Tang Shi and investigates what race they belong to and how they come into China. Thirdly, this thesis, by adopting the methods of Genealogy and Image Studies in comparative literature, examines and explains how poets in Tang Dynasty accepted the heterogeneous culture. And combining with the situation of Tang Dynasty, this thesis explores poets in Tang Dynasty how to understand the foreign image.By those detailed differentiation and analysis, investigation and interpretation, the following conclusions have been made in the end: poets in Tang Dynasty portrayed the Huji image with their Confucian mind; with the Tang society falling into decline, the Huji image which was positive at the beginning became more doubtful.
