A Moment in Peking, A Leaf in the Storm and Vermilion Gate are Lin Yutang's favoriate trilogy. In trilogy each novel, all take a kind of cultural spirit as the predominance, blend three philosophies of way, Taoism, Confucianism ,Buddhism , simultaneously collects into the western modern culture, forms one kind of new cultural spirit, to the chart achieves a kind of new cultural boundary. A Moment in Peking take the Taoist philosophy as the predominance, A Leaf in the Storm take the spirit of Buddhism as the soul, Vermilion Gate then make every effort" reasonable and near feeling" thought of publicize the Confucianism. Three novels put together, complete body Lin Yutang Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoist, win the cultural idea that the west matches the Chinese. From this article the first chapter and the second chapter of this article, character image analysis and love story, analyze Lin Yutang is expresses own idea of culture through the novel.
