Xuanguai Lu and The sequel of Xuanguai Lu is a fiction of sketches written by both Niu Sengru and Li Fuyan of late Tang Dynasty., which is of great significance from the perspective of corpus source . This thesis collects and analyzes the disyllable in the two books in a integrated way from the perspective of the mode of word building. The thesis also conducts study on the characteristic of vocabulary of the two books and the rule of development of disyllable of late Tang Dynasty by analyzing the disyllable from the point of semantic and speech.The methods this thesis use are statistic ,comparison and conclusion. The thesis composed of four parts: Review of former documents, analysis of disyllables by examples, new words and new meanings and conclusion. Through analyzing the two books completely, the thesis finds the number and distribution of them and compares with The analects of Confucius , Lun heng of Han Dynasty, Shi shuo xin yu of Liu song Dynasty and DunHuang Bianwen. The conclusion of the thesis is that: the modes of word-building are completed. On the speech, there were only a few modes which didn't exist comparing with modern Chinese. Meanwhile, the number of each mode of word-building is quite different.Through studying on the subject, I hope to provide valuable materials for the research of the history of Chinese and reference of standardizing and enriching the vocabulary of Chinese.
