The extant female writing anthologies of Ming dynasty surpassed those of all previous ones not only in quantity but also in literary style, which served as a prologue to the large-scale compilation of female writing anthologies in Qing dynasty. This thesis, based on deconstructing the texts, launches an elaboration of the female writing anthologies of Ming dynasty.The Preface outlines research history of female writing anthologies in Ming dynasty and discusses the achievements as well as insufficiencies. The main text is divided into three parts:The first chapter centers on The Research on the Female Writings of Past Dynasties of Hu Wenkai and classifies the extant 44 female writing anthologies into Jiajing, Wanli and Chongzhen eras, summarizing one by one, trying to reorganize exhaustive documents.The second chapter mainly analyzes the characteristics of the female writing anthologies of Ming Dynasty. In term of the development of compilation, the name of anthologies tended to be elegant and the categories increased. Meanwhile, both genders devoted themselves to the cause.
