Yuan Dynasty In The Mineral Industry Research

The Yuan Dynasty attached great importance to the development of mining industry and applied different mode of production and management in it. In min- ing industry, there were lots of modes of production existing at the same time, such as servitude production, individal production and hired labour production. All of them had different effects on the development of mining industry. In addition, the government of Yuan also established institutions at all levels and drew up a se- ries of management policies and systems in mining industry. All these measures reflected the feudalistic nation function in managing economy. The present pa- per proceeds from this angle and tries to inquire into the questions above. It is made up of four chapters. The first chapter introduces the general production conditions of mining in- dustry and lay stress on the expounding mining and smelting in the frontier areas, which were the key aspects in the development of mining industry of the Yuan Dynasty - The second chapter deals with the different mode of production and dis- tribution in mining industry of the Yuan Dynasty. In this chapter, it also analyzes that different modes of management have different effects on the development of mining industry. The third chapter introduces the institutions at all levels in mm- ing industry and further analyzes their different divisions of labour, limits of au- thority and distinguishing features. The fourth chapter, throngh the study on the national management policies in mining industry, inquires into the gain and loss of managing economy in the government of Yuan.
