Achille-Claude Debussy is a famous French composer, the founder of Impressionism of 19th and early 20th century. Debussy is a figure who stands on Romantic Time across the century, who inherited and developed Romantic music and established the Impressionism in the late of Romanticism. He opened up a new world for 20th century's composers and built a bridge between Romanticism and modern Music. He also started a new way for Modern Music. He played a significant role in the development of"Expressionism""Twelve-tone series"and"Serial music". So far, his works still keep good vitality .And his late style had a trend toward Neoclassic.The paper mainly talks about his characteristic mode, tonality and harmony in his"24 preludes"in order to master necessary inheritance and reference in writer's own work.
