Analysis Of Music Characteristics And Performance Art Of Reflets Dans L'eau Of Achille-claude Debussy

The French composer Achille-Claude Debussy created the piano music “Reflets dans I'eau” in 1905,which is also a representative of his “Images,Set 1”.Holding great significance in Debussy's creation career,this work lays the foundation for the establishment of the composer's impressionist style.This paper tries to analyze the origin of Debussy's style from the cultural and historical levels by exploring the creation characteristics of his “Reflets dans I'eau”.This creation has taken on distinct characteristic of the times.Harmony,as a specific factor highlighting the keynote of the work,has become an important means of musical performance.Moreover,melody changes and the new structural forms derived from the texture also endow the work with more description of “water” elements and musical image.The paper also focuses on the changes of performing skills triggered by the renewal of creation concept.Based on the performance of the work,aspects such as timbre techniques,methods to touch keys,rhythm control and pedal usages are analyzed and summarized.By comparing three performers' versions of the work,its performing styles are deeply analyzed,so as to better understand Debussy's creation intention.And on this basis,this paper tries to offer a better interpretation of the work's performance.
