Discharge Status Of The Polio Virus In China In Patients With Primary Immunodeficiency

BackgroundUntil 2009, there are 41 cases iVDPV were detected in global. Most of them were from high-middle income countries. However, more and more iVDPV cases were detected in low-middle income countries in recent. In 2005, the first iVDPV case has been detected in Anhui Province. For evaluating the risk of PID patients excrete VDPV, a few study have shown that this risk is exteremly low. Because of these studies searched cases in developed countries that have switched IPV to OPV for many years. The samiliar survey should be replaced in low-middle income countries.Study ObjectivesTo estimate the prevalence of vaccine-derived poliovirus excretion among persons diagnosed with primary immune (B-cell and/or combined B and T cell) deficiency (PID) disorders; further study on subjects positive for vaccine-derived poliovirus excretion to determine duration of excretion. To investigate the quantitative immune globulins (QIGs) among the people with perianal abscess and estimate the prevalence of vaccine-derived poliovirus excretion.MethodsThis study will focus on persons recently diagnosed or living with PIDs in China. PID patients searched from the pediatric hospital, persons with perianal abscess and the positive islolates of AFP cases, should provide two stool specimens, and a single blood sample. Stool specimens will be examined for polioviruses according to standard WHO guidelines and sera will be tested for QIGs. Poliovirus excretion rates will be quantified and all polioviruses isolated from the study population will be characterized.ResultsStool samples from the 153 patients were collected from pediatric hospital; all samples investigated were negative for isolation of vaccine derived poliovirus. However 7 non-polio enterviruses (NPEV) and 3 Sabin strain poliovirus were isolated, one of poliovirus have 5 nucleotide divergences in VPlarea. Screening 587 persons with perianal abscess, there are 57 cases have two Ig lower from IgG, IgA, IgM. No individual has detected diagnosed with PID. Investigating the 63 AFP cases with positive islolates in Shangdong Province, No individual has detected diagnosed with PID. ConclusionAll objects investigated were negative for isolation of vaccine derived poliovirus escept enteroviruses and Sabin strain polioviarus were isolated from a few people, No individual with perianal abscess and positive isolated of AFP has detected diagnosed with PID.
