Acupuncture Manipulation Comparative Study

Ancient Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion spread to Japan, after that, it's digested and absorbed, then started to form Japonic characteristic in the Edo period, that's different with Chinese acupuncture manipulation.This article observed on the conspectus about Chinese and Japanese acupuncture manipulation from past to present, drew a parallel of the similarities and differences between Chinese and Japanese acupuncture in the basic instruction theory, the acupuncture adaptation scope, the needle and stimulation quantity, the acupuncture reinforcement and reduction, the education of acupuncture, the social scale of acupuncture workers, etc. The article thinks that Chinese acupuncture attach importance to the selection of acupoint and treatment based on categorical identification; also takes account of the function of channel and acupoint; the filiform needle is thicker, the stimulation quantity is bigger, requests the needling response; acupuncture manipulation is complex and diverse; emphasis on needle-holding hand , acupuncture reinforcement and reduction, needling sensation. But Japanese acupuncture put stress on. expectant treatment and selection of local points; pays attention to acupoint but not to channel; the pipe needle is thinner, the stimulation quantity is smaller, emphasizes acupuncture without pain; the acupuncture manipulation is simple; makes a point of the operation of left hand; not too pays great attention to acupuncture reinforcement and reduction, and not necessarily request deqi. At the last, the article analyzed the reason which caused the differences and thinks that it's mainly relating to the social history, cultural consciousness, geographic environment and etc of two countries.The article debated on the similarities and differences about acupuncture manipulation between Chinese and Japanese, it hope to advance development and to contribute new idea for the innovation of Chinese acupuncture manipulation, also hope to supply reference for enhancing clinical curative effect of acupuncture and moxibustion.
