With the development of the incorporative world economy and the knowledge-based economy, the possession of knowledge and human resource has become the basis of any organizations. As a result, the essential of the international and domestic competition is, to possess knowledge-based people. In fact, innovative ability and competitive advantage of a corporation depend on its human resource, and the special ability. These abilities mean not only knowledge and skill, but also people's potential power, and characteristics, that is competency. Competency is the power source that really brings high performance.Hospital, especially large hospital under our country's management system, is not on the base of maximizing income. But under the background of knowledge-based economic time, any hospital that want to keep its force, name and advantage, muse have amount of excellent expert doctors. From this angle, hospital and corporation has no differentiation. The doctors are knowledge-based employees; their character will decide directly the quality and speed of development and the core competency of the hospital.There are great deals of high educational background, high knowledge level person in this special organization-- the hospital, it is particularly important to select, develop, encourage and manage them.This disquisition aimed to design and analysis the chief physicians' competency model to find the competence characters. This is the request of building innovative country and the development of the knowledge-based economy, but also surviving better services to patients. More important, this determines the development of hospitals and doctors' career.Take a large high-level hospital for example, using Competency Model theory in Human Resources Management, this disquisition studied the chief physicians' competency. Through interviews, questionnaires, etc. we build the construction of the model and make an analysis of the questionnaire data, at last, make a conclusion.This study could be used on the HRM in hospital, including select, develop, encourage and so on. Hope this study can give some suggestions and directions to the professional technical people's management. Hope the management level and system of our country's hospital will be better and more mature in the future, bring even better survives to our society and our people.
