Sjogren's syndrome(sicca syndrome SS)is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease associated with lymphocytic infiltration of exorine glands. Certainly,it's involvement with salivary gland and lacrimal gland and others(sweat gland,nasal gland,upper and lower respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, vagina gland).The clinical manifestations of SS also include of a variety of involvement of the exocrine glands and extraglanduler disorders syndrome,besides Keratoconjunctivitis(dry eyes)and xerostomia(dry mouth).For instance,pulmonary fibrosis,chronic atroph-ic gastritis,primary biliary cirrhosis,immune complex glomerrulonephritis,lymphoma.Clinical observations suggested that tongue appearance of SS patients can varied with all the process of sicca syhdrome. TCM scholar published "bia zheng lun zhi" for SS should have been foused on tongue appearance.The article summaried on the phenomena of tongue appearance of SS patients,recounted the mechanism of tongue appearance,used the conclusion of tongue appearance in current medicine, tried to find the factors of tongue appearance for SS patients. lysosome, EGF, immunoglobu-lin,sexal hormone,the defection of capacity and dynamical action of saliva,microcirculation hemo-dynamic changement,pH,component and content of immunoglobulin for instance.
