Objective: Correlated resources ancient acupuncture sources on headache cures, conclude the high frequency use of certain acupoint used for the treatment of headache and analyses the different methods of acupuncture in each dynasty.Methods: Collected ancient sources on Headaches treatment from ancient books on acupuncture. These prescriptions involved acupoints and meridians for the treatment of headache. Data collection software was used for correlation of this project.Results:1 Frequency in the use certain acupoints: 193 acupoints for treatment of headache have been recorded. There is high frequency use of certain acupoints which are FengChi(GB20), BaiHui(DU20), SiZhuKong(SJ23) , ZanZhu (BL2), ShangXing (DU23), TouWei (ST8) These acupoints are located on head. HeGu (LI4), JieXi(ST41), LieQue (LU8), HouXi (SI3) and FengLong(ST40) acupoints are located on limbs.2.The analysis of Meridians: ShaoYang meridian are highly recommended for the treatment of headache, Yang and Du meridians are also effectively.3.The analysis of Specific Point: The Yuan-source acupoint and the Eight Confluent acupoint were given priority to treat headache. Conclusion: No matter what are the causes of headache, acupoints of the effected meridian which have been diagnosed are the main treatment for alleviating headaches. The Specific Points listed above are the most effective acupoints for the treatment of headache.
