The Leontopodium The Chemical Composition Study

Leontopodium leontopodioid(wild.)Beauv.,a well-known Chinese medicine in folk, belongs to the genus Leontopodium of family Compositae.Local people use it to cure various disorders.Those speak well for its exact effects,and good prospects,so it is worthy of doing further studies on it.The author has investigated the chemical constitutes.In order to study the chemical constituents of Leontopodium leontopodioid(wild.) Beau-v.,Fourteen compounds were isolated and repeatedly purified by silica gel colum n chromatography.Eleven compounds were identified by spectral analysis.They were apigenin-7-O-β-D-glucoside(1),luteolin-7-O-β-D-glucoside(2),berberin(3),feruli acid (4),caffeic acid(5),vanillic acid(6),protocatechuic aldehyde(7),p-hydroxycinnamic acid(8),stigmasterol(9),β-sitosterol(10),daucosterol(11).Compounds 1,3 were firs t isolated from this genus.Compounds 2,9,11 were isolated from this plant for the first time.
