This thesis has reviewed general situation of original gout arthritis in old people in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and research progress of relevant disease in modern medicine generally,and has summarized syndrome difference in TCM and treatment progress in both modern medicine and TCM. And on the basis of learning clinical experience and academic thought, stagnation of phlegm and blood stasis is the important pathogenesis while invigorating blood circulation to remove the stasis and removing phlegm. The week function of spleen and kidney is the pathologica base of original gout arthritis in old people. Dislodging the stagnation of phlegm and blood stasis is an important way of treating acute gout arthritis in old people,and use the soup of dislodging the stagnation of phlegm on the theory.Clinical research: we used soup of dislodging the stagnation of phlegm combining with west medical treatments to treat original gout arthritis in old people, compared to the only west medical treatment . The result shows that the treatment group can improve the clinical symptoms of patients more significantly, it has better efficiency to improve the function of patientes' joint and lower many laboratory target, Total efficiency of the treatment group is 87% , superior to contrasting group, whose total efficiency is 60%(P <0.05).
