Human eye and cornea situation can be sensed accurately and quickly by corneal topography and eye wave-front aberration. With the development and prevalence of refractive surgery, corneal contact lens and keratoplasty, corneal topography and eye wave-front aberration is becoming a necessary testing item in ophthalmology and visual optics. Analyzing the merits and drawbacks of the commercial instruments, we established a new type of sensor for corneal topography and wave-front aberration measurement which is based on the theory of cyclic radial shearing interference.Radial shearing interference was simulated with ZEMAX and MATLAB, which selected the best radial shearing ratio. Moreover, the experimental setup of radial shearing interference for human eye corneal topography was established with proper selection and design of experimental apparatuses. Additionally, with the true human eyes of volunteers, radial shearing interference images of the front surface of human eyes cornea were captured.Owning the virtues of high sensitivity, good shaking resistance, simple apparatuses, and inexpensive cost, researched experiment setup can successfully complete the accurate and quick measurement of corneal topography and human eye wave-front aberration, which settles the problems of high price of the sensor of corneal topography and human eye wave-front aberration and corresponding non-popularization, which is helpful to the promotion of civil visual optics.
