Objective:To observe the clinical effects of acupuncture on patients with apoplectic sequela as hemiplegia, provide effective therapeutic methods for acupuncture to treat apoplectic sequela as hemiplegia and a scientific theory by comparing the scores of paralysis of limbs,the relationship between curative effects and the course of disease and analysis in curative effect before and after treatment between the treated group and the control group. Methods:Study was performed on 50 patients with apoplectic sequela as hemiplegia, which was proved by CT or MRI who was from in-patient departments of acupuncture and moxibustion of HuBei hospital of traditional Chinese medicine and was randomly divided into 2 groups: acupuncture group, which was composed of 30 patient who were treated by acupuncture; control group ,comprised 20 patients treated by massage therapy .We compared the scores of paralysis of limbs, the relationship between curative effects and the course of disease and analysis in curative effect before and after treatment between the treated group and the control group, and estimate the comparability, difference and superior. Result:1 There is comparability between the two groups verified by X~2-test.2 Clinic Evaluation The markedly effective rate of the acupuncture group was 73% and the effective rate was 93%. The remarkably improved rate of the massage group was 65% and the effective rate was 85%.Analyzed by Ridit, there were significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05),Obviously, the acupuncture group was superior to the massage group.3 The scores of paralysis of limbs before and after treatment: Compared to that before treating, the scores of paralysis of limbs after treating in the two groups were significantly improved, and the acupuncture group was superior.4 The changes of Lost Nervous Function and Barthel Indexes The marks concerned on the lost nervous function and Barthel ADL(Active of Daily Living)of the two groups decreased. And there were significant differences between the acupuncture group and massage group after treatment (P<0.05).Consequently, the former was superior to the latter.Conclusion:Both acupuncture and massage can improve the syndrome as paralysis of limbs, and the acupuncture group is superior. Acupuncture has remarkable clinic effects on apoplectic sequel as hemiplegia, it can be applied conveniently and it likely has no vice or poisonous effects. It can be accepted and should be worth applying further in practice.
