Objective: to observe the effects of PDB on decreasing blood sugar and clarify its mechanisms.Methods: The rats were divided into 6 groups, normal control (NCG) , diabetic control (DCG) , medicine control (MCG 5mg/kg.d ) and experimental (PDB 9g/kg. d,6g/kg. d,3g/kg. d). The experimental period was 4 weeks. by the rats of experimental diabetes induced by alloxan, by the methods of control, Fasted blood sugar (FBS) and fasted blood fat (FBF) ,SOD,MDA, Insulin and C-P secretion were measured before and after experiment, and observed pancreas islet B cell,liver, kidney.Results: The result of biochemical measurement It showed that PDB had significant effect of decreasing FBS and FBF on diabetic rats (compared large,middle dose with modle dose P<0. 01); PDB can increase the activity of SOD and insulin and OP secretion in Alloxan diabetes; PDB can decreased the amount of MDA. ; The result of morphyology pancreas islet B cell SABC reaction showed that it could restore the histology structure of damaged pancreas islet B cells; PAS reaction of hepatic tissue that it could increase the disposal of glucose; PDB can restore the histology structure of damaged kidney.Conclusion: PDB showed that PDB had significant effect of decreasing FBS and FBF on diabetic rats; PDB can increase the activity of SOD and insulin and OP secretion in Alloxan diabetes; PDB can decreased the amount of MDA. ; PDB could restore the histology structure of damaged pancreas islet B cells; PAS reaction of hepatic tissue that it could increase the disposal of glucose; PDB can restore the histology structure of damaged kidney; Flavonoids,eucalyptus triterperoid acid (ETA) and trace element that contained in PDB can provide significant effect of...
