Shanxi Province, The Provincial Medical Institutions Disinfection Effect Comprehensive Analysis

Objective: hospitals is the places with kinds of patients and pathogens carriers , Many pathogens can be transmitted to other patients ,doctor and Access persons through contaminated air, surface, disinfector, medical equipment et al and resulting in hospital infection. The work of hospital disinfection control must be done diligently so that to reduce the incidence of hospital infections significantly. In order to analysis the sterilization quality of different sizes hospitals , find out the influencing factors,and to provide the evidence for reducing the incidence of hospital infections,5 years supervision and investigation of the daily disinfection sterilization quality of 35 different size provincial hospitals in Shanxi province were used to carry out . The purpose is to master the sterilization quality of different sizes hospitals, the status and problems of disinfection work and the solutions to reduce the incidence of hospital infection.Methods: (1)The environment which is monitored include operating rooms, supply rooms, injection rooms, disposal rooms and ICU. (2) The items such as air, surface, hands, disinfector et al were inspected.(3) Samples were collected randomly. Standard of collecting samples and determination of test results is in accordance with requirements of《disinfection technical standards》《,hospital disinfection health standards GB15982-1995》and《the evaluation of disinfection and sterilization methods and standards GB15981-1995》which were promulgated by the ministry of health.Results: 8,869 samples were collected from 2001-2005 and 7,856 were eligible, the total pass rate is 90.62% and the pass rate for first type of hospital is 90.05%, 91.58% of the second class hospitals, 94.28% of the third class hospitals and 84.19% of the fourth class hospital. The pass rate of air and surface is 79.99% and 75.65%, The rates of disinfection fluid and pressure steam sterilization machine is 92.99% and 98.01%. The pass rates of operating rooms, supply room, mother-infant rooms, injection rooms and disposal rooms, ICU, laboratory is separately 95.25%, 88.71%,90.07%,82.23%,85.08%,94.69% and 86.64%. 88.00% passed in spring, 85.95%, 91.00% and 91.99% passed in summer, autumn and winter.Conclusions: The effectiveness and quality of disinfection and sterilization in different sizes hospitals and environments is different significant and it may be caused by the size hospitals, attention of leaders and the professionals and disinfection capacity. There is a long way to go to further strengthen the management of the disinfection to improve the disinfection level.
