Preliminary Study Of The Effective Hypoglycemic Screening Of Chinese Medicine And Its Hypoglycemic Mechanism

Diabetese Mellitus (DM) is a kind of metabolic disease, resulted from the defective insulin secretion, which is charactered by hyperglycemia. Chronic hyperglycemia usually induces the perennial damage, function inadequacy and exhaustion of all sorts of viscera,especially the eye, kidney, nerve and cardiovisceral vessel. The Xiao Ke disease is a kind of disease caused by yin deficiency and dryness of lung, stomach and kidney, and transport abnormality of water paddy. It is characteristic of some symptoms, including thirsty, starvation, diuresis, fleshless. DM belongs to the category of"Xiao Ke Disease"according to the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).Since DM is a kind of disease for live, its therapy involved with changing live style, adjusting mind obstacle, reasonably applying all medicine. At present, there is no any medicine can effect a radical cure for DM. Western medicine has disadvantage of the secondary invalidation,serious side-effect, and prevention deficiency of chronic complications, While Chinese medicine has seldom side-effect, and its therapeutical effect is mild, persistent and comprehensive. To search effective Chinese herbs which can cure DM, we perform the following experiments: 1. Using Bioinformatics method, we filter ten Chinese herbs lowering blood glucose, and validate treatment for diabetic animal model. 2. By combining Ginseng and Rehmanniae Radix active compounds reducing blood glucose in different proportion, we observe their treatment effect for diabetic animal model. 3. Investigating the therapeutic mechanism of effective Chinese herbs lowering blood glucose. Results as follows:1. Filtering effective Chinese herbs reducing blood glucoseAdopting Bioinformatics method to evaluate synthetical large numbers of Chinese herbs reducing blood glucose, we selected ten Chinese medicine, such as Radix Ginseng, Rehmanniae Radix, rhizomea dioscoreae, milkvetch root, lilyturf root, schisandra fruit, medlar, dogwood fruit, oriental water plantain, ginkgo leaf, and observed their effect of lowering blood glucose. We found that Rehmanniae Radix, Ginseng, rhizomea dioscoreae lowered blood glucose level more than any other herbs in treatment on STZ multi-low dose inducing 1 type DM animal model.2.
