Observed Zhigancao Palpitations Of Clinical Efficacy In The Treatment Of Insomnia Process In The Soup

Insomnia means inadequate or poor-quality sleep, which is characterized by insufficiency of sleep time and sleep depth in order to refresh from tiredness. Along with the social development , the occurrence rate of insomnia rises. In this research, we discuss the the treatment of insomnia by means of the treatment of palpitation with Zhi Gan Cao Tang the prepared licorice decoction. Insomnia usually appears together with heart palpitates in clinical syndrome or symptom complex. Usually the pathogenic factors and pathogenesis of insomnia are the same with those of the heart palpitates. By means of treatment based on syndrome differentiation in Chinese medicine, which aims at the pathogenic factor and pathogenesis of the diseases, we can attain the purpose of removing these two symptoms at the same time. Zhi Gan Cao Tang has four aspects of therapeutic functions, i.e. nourishing the heart-qi, tonifying the heart blood, nourishing the heart-yin and dredging the heart channe. It is usually used for arrhythmia-related diseases in modern times. There are some regular rules in treating insomnia by means of treating heart palpitation with Zhi Gan Cao Tang. (1)Zhi Gan Cao Tang can cure insomnia in syndromes of pure deficiency or more deficiency with less evil. (2)Zhi Gan Cao Tang can relief heart palpitation insyndromes of more evil with less deficiency or excessiveness with deficiency, not expecting to effect a radical cure. ( 3 ) Zhi Gan Cao Tang should not be used for syndromes of pure excessiveness. Through the clinical observation, it is clear that classical Zhi Gan Cao Tang has certain potential in the treatment of insomnia and this should be studied further in the future.
