"double Solid Pass" Acupuncture Treatment Of Postmenopausal Osteoporosis In Clinical Research

ObjectiveTo study the effect of "shuang gu yi tong ( tonifying congenital and acquired essence, eliminating pathogen )" acupuncture therapy on the patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMO), and the influence on the bone mass density (BMD), estradiol (E2), interletukin-6 (IL-6), alkaline phosphatase(ALP), Calcium and Phosphonium in the blood, and Calcium/Creatinine (Ca/Cr)in the Urina. Method45 PMO patients were randomly divided into the "Shuang gu yi tong" group , common acupuncture group and herb group. Each group had15 patients."Shuang gu yi tong" group selected the acupuncture point:Guanyuan, (double) , Jiaji and Weizhong (double ) . Common acupuncture group selected Jiaji, Weizhong ( double) .Both of the groups treated every other day and every week three times for 8 weeks. Herb group took capsule of Xianlinggubao,2 capsules, b. i. d for 8 weeks. During pretherapy and post-treatment we detected ALP,E2,IL-6,Ca,P in the blood and Ca/Cr in the urine, BMD , symptom scores and evaluated the effect.Results1 All of the effective rates of three groups were 100%, the excellent rates of three groups were 80%,33. 3% and 20%. The effect of Shuang gu yi tong group was obviously better than others ( P<0. 01 ).2 The clinical symptom scores of three groups were all increased.Shuang gu yi tong group and Herb group were better than common acupuncture group in releasing symptoms(P<0. 05).3 BMD of three groups was increased. There are no significant difference between Shuang gu yi tong group and Herb group(P>0.05),while there were highly significant difference between Shuang gu yi tong group and common acupuncture group(P<0. 01).4 The level of E2 in three groups was all increased. There were no significant difference between Shuang gu yi tong group and Herb group(P>0.05), while there were significant difference between Shuang gu yi tong group and common acupuncture group (P<0.05).5 The level of IL-6 in three groups was all decreased. Shuang gu yi tong group and Herb group were better than common acupuncture group (P<0. 01).6 The level of ALP in blood was all increased and Ca/Cr in urine was decreased. There were no obviously change between three groups (P>0. 05). Ca in blood of three groups was increased. Shuang gu yi tong group and Herb group were better than common acupuncture group (P<0. 05). P in blood of three groups was decreased. There are no significant difference between Shuang gu yi tong group and Herb group(P>0. 05),while there was significant difference between Herb group and common acupuncture group(P<0.01).Conclusion1 Shuang gu yi tong acupuncture therapy has notable effect on PMO.2 Shuang gu yi tong acupuncture therapy could increase E2 ,decrease IL-6, regulates bone metabolism to increase BMD of PMO.3 Shuang gu yi tong acupuncture therapy could increase ALP, Ca in blood and decrease P in blood, Ca/Cr in urine to regulate bone metabolism.
