ObjectiveTo explore the etiological factor of senility and observe the effects of "Bu Shen Hua Tan Huo Xue Decoction"(BSHTD)on NOS, SOD, MDA, MAO for analyzing the mechanism of action of BSHTD for senility. And to interpret the mechanism of postponing senility in TCM theory. Methods1 Grouping: 3-months mice were randomly divided into normal group, blank group, senility model group, WitE treated group, high-dose and low-dose of BSHTD group.2 Molding: Execpt the normal groupe ,the others induced by injection of back with D-gal to make senility model.3 Giving medicine: Give all groups the dosage of 0.25ml/10g.d . normal group, blank group and senility model group with 0.9%NS; WitE treated group with; high-dose and low-dose of BSHTD group with BSHTD 50g/kg.d and 25g/kg.d differencely.4 Detectionxompae the contents of NOS, SOD, MDA, MAO. Results1. The activity of SOD was lower in senility model mouse than that of normal rats obviously (p<0.01). The remarkably improved rates of the three medicine groups(p<0.01). There were significant differences between the a high-,low-treated group of BSHTD group and the WitE treated group (P<0.05-0.01 ). However ,it was not arrive the level of normal group (P<0.01)2. The Changes of MDA The marks concerned on senility mode of was higher than the other groups . The remarkably decreased rates of the three medicine groups(p<0.01). there were not significant differences between the low-treated group of BSHTD and VitE treated group (P > 0.05). the high-treated group of BSHTD was superior to VitE treated group(p<0.01).3. The Changes of NOS To the high-,low-treated group of BSHTD group and the VitE treated group, the decrease of NOS in model group had highly remarkable differences (P<0.01). the high-treated group of BSHTD group rised highly significantly (P<0.01).4. The Changes of MAO The marks concerned on senility mode of was higher than the other groups . The remarkably decreased rates of the three medicine groups(p<0.01). there were not significant differences between the low-treated group of BSHTD and VitE treated group (P > 0.05). the high-treated group of BSHTD was superior to the VitE treated group(p<0.01).Conclusion1 Kidney-essence weak,phlegm and blood stasis is the basic etiological factor for senility ,and BSHT therapy is operative on postponing senility .2 BSHTD possesses a certain improvement of the SOD and NOS content ,decreased the MDA and MAO content for senility model mice, consequently postponing senility .
