The thesis mainly includes literature review and clinical study. The first part consists two reviews. The first one is related with "the western medicine research development on SARS". The contents summarize the concept, epidemiology, etiology, pathology, cause mechanism, clinical diagnosis for SARS and present clinical treatment, the initial research into the conditions of SARS patients' convalescence period. The second one is named "the Chinese Medicine research development on SARS". It includes the Chinese naming for SARS, pathogenesis recognition, pattern identification and Chinese Medicine treatment (including the treatment methods for all phases of SARS and convalescence phase. In the clinical study, we choose 82 SARS patients who had been treated and released from the hospital in Inner-Mongolia municipality Ba Yan Nai Er Meng district. These patients are grouped into Replenishing-Qi and Nourishing-Yin Group and Tonifying Spleen and Stomach Group randomly according to the ratio of 2:1. The first group was treated with Kang Fu Pill and the second group was treated with Bao He pill. The results show: after treatment with the compound drug, there are obvious difference between these two groups in the appearance of chest CT P=0. 025, P<0.05. However, comparing the treatment effect before and after having these pills, there is no significant difference in other laboratory examination results within the two individual groups. In addition, there are obvious difference in the overall syndrome score in each group while no significant difference between these two groups. In Replenishing-Qi and Nourishing-Yin Group, there are statistical meaning in meliorating the symptoms of short-breath, lacking strength, over-sweating (P<0. 05, over-sweating P<0. 01) while in the Tonifying Spleen and Stomach Group, there are statistical meaning in meliorating all the 6 major symptoms of SARS. The results hint that the method of Tonifying Spleen and Stomach is more effective in treating SARS patients in their convalescence phase.
