Purpose : To investigate the clinical effect of electroacupuncture therapy of Qiao channel in treatment hemiplegia with spastic paralysis of lower limbs. Methods : 64 cases of patients of hemiplegia with spastic paralysis were randomly divided into two groups. In the control group, traditional acupoints were chosen and punctured on sick upper and lower limbs. In the treatment group, traditional acupoints were punctured just on sick upper limbs, acupoints located on Qiao channel were specially punctured on sick lower limbs. Among two groups, some points were combined with electroacupuncture therapy and stimulated successively with loose and dense waves. Results : There was a significant difference in therapeutic effects between the two groups (P<0.05).The effective rate was 97% by the treatment group,83% by the control group . Treatment group was more effective than control group. Motor function of upper and lower limbs was improved on two groups after treatment (p<0.01). As for the improvement of the muscular tension of lower limbs, treatment group is more significant of difference than control group (p<0.01). Conclusion : Electroacupuncture of Qiao channel have a clinical sense to remit the muscular tension of sick lower limbs after hemiplegia with spastic paralysis and improve the motor function of lower limbs. Besides that, it is helpful to better the motor function and muscular tension of sick upper limbs with puncturing the points on Qiao channel.
