Acupoint Application In The Treatment Of Stroke Depression In Clinical Studies

Objective: To observe the effecacy of acupoint application in the treatment of earlyPSD on the depression symptoms and neural function recovery. At the same time, to compare with the effect of the application of acupuncture and western medicine fluoxetine.Methods: 53 PSD patients were randomly divided into four groups .The first group were treated with acupoint application .The second group were treated by acupuncture .The third group was treated with fluoxetine and the fourth group was not treated with anti-depression medicine .All patients got basic treatment including anti-hypertension and anti-diabetics and so on. Patients were evaluated by the HAMD, MESSS, and BI for four times before the treatment, in the end of the second week, the fourth week and the sixth week during the treatment.Results: There are significant difference between pre-treatment and post-treatment for each group within three treatment groups, P<0.05 . The three treatment groups have significant difference with the control group. There are no significant difference between the three treatment groups, P>0.05Conclusion: Acupoint application can treat PSD effectively; it can promote the recovery of nerve and improve the life quality of the patients. Acupoint application acupuncture and fluoxetine are all effective to improve the depression symptoms and promote the recovery of the nerve. There is no obvious statistics difference between these three methods in effect. Compare to the acupuncture treatment, acupoint application is relatively more convenient.
