With the development of the modernization of TCM, TCM practitioners attach more and more importance to the study of treatment effect. We can popularize the effective treatment of Wind-stroke, only after a unitive standard is established, which is very important for globalization of TCM.During the past years, more and more people have got wind-stroke as they lead better lives. Wind-stroke has become one of the most fearful diseases that are threatening the senile people. Thus it becomes one of the most popular diseases under research now. Among all the researches, study of the standard of treatment effect has not been mature enough comparing to that of the types, the therapy, the prognosis and the healing. An appropriate standard that can effectively evaluate the treatment effect of wind-stroke both in TCM and orthodox medicine is in urgent need. This research is just to solve this problem, and it is mainly about the study of symptoms during acute stage. This dissertation composes two parts. The first part is a review about the study of standardization of patterns and symptoms, treatment effect and evaluation scales. The second part is the research made up of a review of literal medical records and an observation of the symptoms during acute stage. This research takes place in Xuanwu Hospital. Patients in the first 7 days of wind-stroke are selected. Their symptoms of 14 days are recorded, and certain scales estimate their conditions on the 3rd, 7th and 14th day. Their lab examination results are taken down too. Altogether there are 50 cases vertically fall into the scope of this research, i.e. 467 cases transversely. At the end of observation, we get the ratio of the symptoms relieved and changes of the scales in the acute stage by statistics.
