The Education of Chinese Medicine have to adjust it's educational style along with the changing from the Biology Medical pattern to Biology 桺sychology桽ociety Medical pattern. This project, which makes a great progress at the effort to adjust the style of the Education of Chinese Medicine, is one of projects namely Course Construction Projects in the new century supported by the National Education Ministry (No: 144100069).The Long-distance Education, also called Network Education, is one educational style based on Internet, which applies the multimedia technology, database technology and network technology, etc. Its characteristics are as follows: personality teaching-learning environment, abundant teaching resources, interactive teaching, group cooperation and creative teaching contents easy to be modified. Successful Long-distance Education is as good as the traditional education; meanwhile, the Long-distance Education needs greatly the support of the school education.The application of new technology has driven greatly the development of the Long-distance Education. Facing with 21st century, there are four educational development trends such as personality, all-life, internationality and popularity. The development of Long-distance Education needs not only basic establishment and software construction, but also specially the change of educational opinion and training model. According to the existing problems such as the shortage of the network resources, etc, we should pay enough attention to the following aspects in the development of our country's Long-distance Education: systematic, creativity and applicability.The popular Education of Chinese Medicine is facing such challenge as the transformation of the Education of Chinese Medicine's goal from training intellectual to creative person. The new Education of Chinese Medicine should have such characteristics as open, social, lifelong, international and comprehensive. The Education of Chinese Medicine should emphasize on personality, knowledge and ability's fully training, actively pull out the teaching innovation and change the traditional commonness educational opinion and manage system.The design of the TCM Diagnostic's courseware emphasizes fully the personality learning, standing out the students' objective status. The application is to bring up the students' creative abilities, shorten the distance between the theoretical and clinical teaching. This courseware contains software and hardware (development environment, running environment, database, and development tools), documents structure, elaborate technique route drawing, etc.Combined tightly with characteristics of Long桪istance Education, the TCM Diagnostic's courseware has established such functional modules as unit test, network discussion, medical literature study, research progress, index of words, discriminate diagnostics, brief introduction of staff, course introduction and navigation of courseware. These modules have carried out the theoretical foundation of the Long桪istance Educational model.In order to realize the general goal of the TCM Diagnostic's courseware, the author choosesthe multimedia styles such as photograph, video and audio, etc. There are about 200 thousands words to explain the basic learning contents and 419 photographs to help comprehension. This courseware has provided about 140 thousands words indicating the recent correlate research progress, self-test questions contain about 700 multiple-choice tests and 76 case analysis questions, 339 idiomatic concepts of TCM's Diagnostics and about 20 network discussion questions.In conclusion, combined with the development of Long ?distance education and the formation of the new educational style, this article which is based on the design of the TCM Diagnostic's courseware has discussed the inevitability, importance and feasibility of the development of TCM's Long-distance education.
