Study of early diagnosis and TCM therapy mechanisms on Ankylosing Spondylitis(AS) Author Guo yu hai Speciality TCM orthopedics and traumatology Tutor Professor Cao yi xun Abstract Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) is one of the questionable diseases in orthopedics, whose pathogenesis has not been known clearly. There is no specific drug that can cure the disease home and abroad at present. A criterion of early diagnosis has not been formulated. The TCM therapy by overall analysis and differentiation of syndrome and signs has marked efficacy, but there are few studies of its mechanisms. This study consists of two parts: the clinical study and the experimental study. We designed the 換iang Ji Tang?decoction to treat patients of AS. The results indicated that the decoction has marked efficacy with the total effective rate of 94.55%, especially on those who have peripheral arthritis. There is no appropriate experiment model to be used for reference at present. According to the pathogenesis of AS, We select the animal experiment model and engage in the science experiment. The conclusion of the study indicated that the 換iang Ji Tang攄ecoction has marked efficacy on anti-inflammatory, analgesia, ameliorating the disturbance of microcirculation and hemodynamics, and ordering immunologic function. It not only proved that the decoction has the theoretical and experimental bases, but also explained the mechanisms of 1CM therapy on AS. So it provided us with a handy, efficient diagnosis and treatment ofAS.
