Objective: 1.To discuss the mechanism and treatment of ankylosingSpondylitis (AS) concerning Chinese and modern medicine. 2. To study and obserive the effect of the treatment with traditional Chinese medicine (Qiang Ji 1) and manuver to AS.Methods: 1. Reviewing and evaluating the arguments about AS on the partof Chinese and modern medicine. 2. Using traditional Chinese medicine (Qiang Ji 1) and manuver to treat 21 patients with AS (A group) andcontrolled by 21 patients treated with Westen medicine sulfasalagine (B group) . The therapeutic course is eight weeks. Obseriving the contentsincluding the Mark of symptom and sign, the Bath AS Diease Activity Index,the Bath AS Diease Functional Index, the Bath AS Metrology Index, the Markof lab and the adverse reaction.Results: 1.Now, the mechanism and treatment of AS concerning Chineseand modern medicine dosen't be understood fully, and the treatment to it is yet difficult. 2. The effect of the treatment with A group is better than which with B group, and the adverse reaction with A group dosen't be observed.Conclusions: 1. Under existing condition we should treat AS with allkinds of treatment about Chinese and modern medicine to improve the effect and low the adverseer condition. 2. The effect of the treatment with traditional Chinese medicine (Qiang Ji 1) and manuver to AS has excellent curative effect, and this method is safe and reliable, so treaditional Chinese medicine treatment to AS has great development perspective.
