By studying the present condition and development of competitiveness of large-sized general hospitals. the article defines such competitiveness into two parts: visible and potential of which the essence is to serve for the people health by actual strength of fine quality, high efficiency and low cost. To surpass its competitors in order to attract consumer and occupy medical service market. The evaluation index selected conforms to the modem hospital finance and accounting system. And the evaluation model established resembles its systematic and operative features. Through evaluations of the competitiveness for 8 large-sized general hospitals of Dalian ,and analyzing both the strength and weakness for competition of hospitals. The article explores in detail the approach for developing competitiveness of hospital and proposes the core idea of hospital renovation. That is by way of technical, marketing, system and training professional hospital director troops to enhance the hospital competitiveness.
