Metrorrhagia and metrostaxis refer to the occurrence of menstrual blood not at the due time concerning on women,or profuse and fulminant blood flow,or dripping bleeding,similar to dysfunctional uterine bleeding in modern medicine.It is a common and frequently-occurring disease in clinical gynecology, and seriously impacts on women's lives and health. My teacher professor Huang kejia has engaged in clinical gynecology, teaching and researching on traditional Chinese medicine for more than 20 years,gathered plentiful clinical experience, and obtained significant clinical effects with her own unique perspective on the disease.Nowadays, Most doctors think the clinical causes of the disease are kidney asthenia,spleen asthenia,abnormal flow of blood due to heat,and retention of blood stasis; the therapeutic methods of the disease are nourishing the kidney,strengthening the spleen,clearing away heat,and resolving blood stasis.But Professor Huang Kejia considered kidney asthenia,spleen asthenia,or abnomal flow of blood due to heat could finally lead to the retention of blood stasis which blocks the uterus,causes blood fails to circulate within the meridians,eventually, result in the occurrence of menstrual blood not at the due time.In addition, the menstruation of outside of the meridian will also affect the formation and operation of new blood,leading to dysfunction of organs,making the disease tangled and difficult to be treated.Therefore,in clinical treatment, Based on the principle of"treating biao under urgent situation, treating ben under chronic situation",in hemorrhage period,my teacher took the principle of"treating diarrhea syndrome with dredging method"to treat metrorrhagia and metrostaxis with Chinese herbal medicine which has effect of resolving the blood stasis; and at the same time modified the prescriptions according to the different symptoms.When bleeding was alleviated,treatment of nourishing the kidney,strengthening the spleen,regulating the liver would be given to make the treatment aimed at the cause of the disease, as well as to make restoration of uterus. In accordance with the physiological characteristics of uterus,used the method of regulating qi and resolving blood stasis in premenstrual to make coordination between qi and blood, and finally the normal menstrual cycle was restored, and the efficacy is very good.
