We often hear people say that they are suffering from internal heat in recent days, and there are variety of internal heat coup appear in television or advertisements, such as " if you are afraid of geting inflamed, Wanglaoji is your troubler-solver ", "stay up all night, clean with kouyanqing ", " If you feel cool, your mind will fly, "etc. These words fully express a large part of people are experiencing or have experienced the"fire"caused by symptoms. Explore the sub-health status characteristics of the fire syndrome and its related of objective indicators, will help guide the sub-health prevention and care, improve the quality of people's health and life. This study is divided into two parts:the theoretical research and the clinical research, including the TCM's understanding of the sub-health, objective indicators exploration of the sub-health, TCM's understanding of fire syndrome, sub-health fire syndrome of population epidemiology investigation, and its relate objective indicatorsv'exploration. Research will now be summarized as follows:Theoretical Research1 Discusses the relationship between TCM and the sub-health, the internal consistency between the sub-health and TCM syndromes, puts forward that sub-health do not have "disease" but have some discernable "syndrome", which belongs to the "illness to be come" of "treating disease before it onset". We can learn the sub-health from the perspective of balance of Yin and Yang, using knowledge of syndrome differentiation and treatment of TCM to guide it, and restoring it to a Yin-Yang balanced state.2 Through the study on objective indexes of syndrome, and the modern medicine's understanding of the sub-health, the thesis give the idea of that sub-health can be put forward syndrome studies and the combination of objective indexes, to establish syndrome diagnostic criterion of sub-health in the combination of the subjective and objective indexes, and form a system and method to comprehensive evaluation of the sub-health status.3 Discusses the "fire" of the understanding in TCM, and explores the concept of "fire", the etiology and pathogenesis, symptoms and characteristics, and the relationship between "fire" and "heat".Clinical ResearchAdopted the research method of clinical cross-sectional, with the application of the "Sub-health Status TCM Syndrome Questionnaire" (3rd Edition) with good reliability and validity, the study made a survey of clinical epidemiology of sub-health in six centers. The result shows that there are 428 people with fire syndrome in 2807 cases of sub-health, which accounted for 15.39% the sub-healthy people, second to the number of people with qi deficiency syndrome. Among them, the cases with liver-fire are 144 cases, accounting for 33.6% the people with fire syndrome; and the cases with stomach-fire are 142cases, accounting for 33.2% the people with fire syndrome. By the analysis of population demographics with fire syndrome, it shows that they mainly focused on young people range from 20 to 30 years old, among them the men are more than the women. Distribution in different careers and education degrees saw no obvious difference. The frequency and degree analysis on main fire symptoms shows that the top four are Insomnia degree, irritation, upset and dry throat. However, the infrequent abdominal pain and hypochondria swollerpain rank the last two. The emotional disease characterized by irritation comes before the somatization characterized by hypochondria swollerpain. Sub-health fire syndrome is mainly caused by fire which the liver-depression turned, and it easily affect emotion. The symptoms characteristics of the fire syndrome are:the main symptoms is emotional disease symptoms; the body symptoms is the second.2 The study uses the means of ITM Immunoturbidimetry, radiation immunoassay, ELISA, to test the neuroendocrine immune indexes of 42 healthy people randomly selected and 365 sub-healthy cases (including 84 cases with fire syndrome). The indexes includes IgA, IgG,β-EP, Cor, T, ACTH, T cell subsets CD3+ and CD4+. Data obtained processed by the software SPSS 13.0. The results showed:there are significant differences in CD3+(P<0.05) between fire-syndrome group and non-fire-syndrome group, and the mean values are higher than that in non-fire-syndrome group. there are significant differences in Cor and T between fire-syndrome group and the healthy group, and the mean values are lower than that in healthy group. There are significant differences in CD3+(P<0.01)between fire-syndrome group and the healthy group, and the mean values are higher than that in fire-syndrome group. There is significant difference in T between male-fire-syndrome group and male-non-fire-syndrome group (0.05
